About the Event
Shillong, once revered as the Rock Capital of India, has seen its vibrant legacy dim over the years. However, the debut of Shillong Open Air, organized by the Meghalaya Tourism Youth Development Society (MTYDS), promises to revive the city’s passion for rock and heavy metal music.
Powered by the renowned Bangalore Open Air Festival and Aggressive Tendencies, Shillong Open Air is set to unfold on 18th January 2025, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for rock and heavy metal in the region.
The festival envisions sustainable growth, with aspirations to feature international headliners in the coming years while continuing to champion the local music scene.
For its inaugural edition, the lineup includes Godless, one of India’s most ferocious death/thrash metal acts known for their intense performances and cutting-edge sound, alongside Speed Trip and Eternal Scorn, two rising forces in the Indian metal circuit.
